Dr. Oshi’s research interests are in developing novel drug delivery devices that shepherd therapeutic cargos through target disease sites in safe and effective manners. He conducted research on fabricating advanced drug carriers such as micro-and nanoparticles that are designed to have multi-functionalities that facilitate desirable particle-cell interaction in the body. In particular, he focused on how particle’s properties such as size, shape and surface charge, which are an emerging particle design parameters, affect drug delivery processes including drug solubility, release, targeting and cellular uptake. In addition, Dr. Oshi involved various polymeric micro-and nanoparticle systems that have a broad spectrum of potential clinical applications such as chronic inflammation and infectious disease.
